Cosmetic acupuncture

    1. Special benefit of Dr Chao’s cosmetic acupuncture

    The Highest standard possible:

The Traditional Chinese Cosmetic Acupuncture methods are approved by the Chinese Medical Association.

Your life is in safe hands: Very well educated and highly experienced in both Chinese and Orthodox medicines, Dr Chao can give you not only the facial beauty, but also improve your general health to improve long term beauty results.

    Unique benefit:

She is able to treat various beauty related medical conditions, which usually will not be able to be offered by other natural beauty treatment or plastic surgeons, e.g. Acne; Bell's palsy; trigeminal neuralgia; askant; eczema; obesity; female facial hair, et al.

Dr Chao has experience of partnering with plastic surgeons to speed up the post operative recovery process.

    2. Cosmetic Acupuncture vs. surgery

If you are looking for a drastic improvement from acupuncture, you will be disappointed. Facelift surgery has more dramatic results. This type of surgery is not without risks. First of all, you need to be fit enough to have the surgery. The general anesthesia itself can be dangerous, the risk of infection and a protracted recovery period (from weeks to months). If you are not happy with the end results, it can be diffucult to change. For some people though, the risks and discomfort are worth the end result. For others, a more organic approach may be the best.

Cosmetic acupuncture can offer reduced or erasure of fine lines and the softening of deeper ones. Additionally, you may experience the firming of jowls and a reduction in the size of under-eye bags, to treat the ‘black eyes’. It is not unusual for patients to report enhanced skin tone, increased energy and eyes that sparkle.

According to Chinese Medicine theory, a person’s face is affected selectively by one’s internal organs. Facial features reflect organic strengths and as internal organs are fortified, one’s face reflects the improvement. Cosmetic acupuncture should be a whole-body treatment. In addition to facial beauty, patients often have generally improved wellbeing.

As there are no scalpels incisions, sutures or acid peels, patients often return to work immediately following the facial. Not only was the recovery time of the traditional face-lift absent, but the blotchiness, redness and irritation normally associated with spa-facials were likewise nonexistent. Unlike surgery, it is most natural and no overdone look.

    3. How many treatments do I need?

It took decades of stress, sun damage and exposure to environmental toxins for your skin to reach a state of crisis, and the damage will not be instantly undone. Some clients take it as a go-at-your-own pace type of programme. You can do as many or as few sessions as you like. To achieve optimal and lasting results, most patients are prescribed a course of 8-14 treatments.

Benefits of these acu-facials are usually apparent long before the entire series is complete. Even after one treatment most people notice the difference. A lift in the jowls, eyelids and brow, more noticeable definition of the cheekbones, and less visible fine lines and wrinkles, are all common benefits of the first appointment.
